while bands like The Ergs! play with Hüsker Dü tattooed on their foreheads, Build Nest, Sleep play with Hüsker Dü tattooed discretely on their sleeve, next to the Slint tattoo – and on the opposite arm there’s Modest Mouse, Built to Spill and something that resembles a Sugar tattoo. and it’s great. and it’s pretty noisy. at times it progresses into almost ambient noise-bits. and they are every bit as great as the gentle bits. this band is also noteable for the extremely jangly vocals. there’s two vocalists that sing on different tracks. one of them shouts more – and you feel his pain when he asks/shouts “what good can ice cream do/when the problem is me and you”. and you also are able to sympathize with the other vocalist, and his veeeeeeery jangly voice, when he states that he “want[s] to get drunk without drinking”. if Cap’n Jazz ever decided to record an album in the vein of Hüsker Dü and all the songs were written by Joseph Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. I love this. and so should you. but in order to understand how great this journey is, you need to download it. and if you likee, you can buyee from http://www.howisannierecords.com
