Twist About Fireplace once was this band playing characteristic semi-noisy emo from How Is Annie records. now they are this band playing characteristic semi-noisy emo from How Is Annie records. and it’s awesome now, like it was back then. the loud guitars and shouting makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. also the psychedelic soft parts (think “If You Were There, Beware” by Arctic Monkeys) are awesome. but this sophomore effort from Twist About Fireplace isn’t as… well… it’s just not as emo as their début. it has got more attitude. more (noise) rock than emo really. this record shares more with Dinosaur Jr., Mudhoney, Sonic Youth and Lemonheads than it does with Rites of Spring, Embrace, Indian Summer and Moss Icon. it is also similar to quite some screamo. but call it what you like – either way it’s awesome, and you can probably buy it on CD or vinyl sometime soon from http://www.howisannierecords.com
