Morfar’s second adventure is every bit as brilliant as his previous. moody synth driven songs (you might by the way recognize one of them from Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson’s album) with odd beats that really corners the listener. and in between this are thousands of little elements, all of which are under Morfar’s control. he manages to shift the focus from one tiny detail to another with extreme elegance. he also dictates the flow of the songs with great skill, often pausing the driving synth for trance-like beats to really shine. the album is also a great display of build-ups, and how to keep suspense. it’s simply nerve-wrecking to listen to. and though there aren’t all that much vocals in here, when there is any – it’s more dreamy than the Twin Peaks theme’s guitars. especially when the vocal delivery is courtesy of Morfar himself, with his fragile and honest voice. it only adds character to the already dreamy and comfortable synths and beautiful twinkly electronic sounds. this album is every bit as good as the last one – possibly even better. download it! I don’t know if there is any physical releases in the works, but if there is – it should pop up at http://howisannierecords.com/ sometime. :)
