warm electronica resembling a cross between Jaga Jazzist and Morfar. it’s very sad-happy, and full of heart. it’s the kind of stuff you listen to in order to cheer up. five songs that are just waiting to put you in the mood right now. feeling sad? get this. feeling good? FEEL BETTER. and get this. it’s quite the accomplishment, cheering you up as much as this will do, seeing as how it’s essentially a really melancholic album. it’s like The Postal Service gone lo-fi. but it has more emotional depth. it’s sad, yes, but it’s also happy at the same time. it’s awesome. and you need to get it. it’s not available in stores any more, as far as I know, but nag http://www.howisannierecords.com for more copies.

Sirka Ragnar – I Am, You Are, He/She/It Is
Sunday, February 8th, 2009Morfar – The Skywriter EP
Sunday, February 8th, 2009Morten “Morfar” Samdal plays drums in Build Nest, Sleep and Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson. he also plays blip blop pop in his solo project, Morfar. he plays some noisy blip blops, but mostly cozy blip blops. it even resembles stuff like Mar and Sigur Rós at times, due to the overall cozyness and awesomeness. also Morfar can’t sing for shit, which gives this a certain distinctive stamp. so if you are into moody electronica with emo lyrics and Cap’n Jazz comparable vocals, this is for you. buy it if you like it *too* much at http://www.howisannierecords.com – along with a lot of other good stuff. flawless label.
