The Ergs! – That’s It…Bye

January 30th, 2012

that’s it… bye! buy it at http://www.dorkrockcorkrod.com/ because it rules. if I recall correctly, Mitch Clem of the at times hilarious Web comic Nothing Nice to Say – which I’m pleased to say was actually recently picked up again – designed the cover. check out nn2s as well, http://mitchclem.com/nothingnice/ because it rules.

The Ergs! – f’n

January 26th, 2012

more The Ergs! rarities for you folks. this is their second release. this is a more traditional release in that it’s not an attempt to convince some alien species that we are equipped to rock and thus deserve the chance to live. this release has the punk-rock-meets-whatever-lulz-we’ll-do-what-we-want style that The Ergs! became famous for years later. (some of these songs were later rerecorded as well.) upbeat and über catchy punk rock with lots of treble. in my opinion, this release deserves regular rotation along with the rest of their catalogue. f’n is f’n great. check it.

The Ergs! – Digital Endpoints

January 24th, 2012

I’m digging up some rare The Ergs! songs for you. I’m starting with their very first release. a ridiculous concept album in which aliens are threatening to annihilate the earth on account of too lame rock’n'roll, and The Ergs! have to save the planet by making the most outrageous and yes, outrighteous, rock’n'roll the world has ever heard. whether they succeed or not is up to you to find out. by the way, this upload features the entire album in one track as well as the tracks by themselves.

Limits & Lines – “Winter” EP

January 6th, 2012

Limits & Lines. wow. just wow. this San Diego band came out of nowhere, with an EP with which they establish themselves as utterly and completely amazing. it sounds a bit like Vulture Culture and It’s Just Vanity, but leaning more on the alternative and pop side of things. just download this right away, because it’s perfect.

Spraynard – Split With Paramedic!

October 8th, 2011

there’s just not enough Spraynard in the world. but here’s some more, for whatever it’s worth. play it loud. experience the feeling of crashing without ever hitting the ground. just pure adrenaline. a pure rush – of joy. I’m going to quit before I get even more pretentious here. Spraynard are amazing. be happy. Spraynard. «let’s cross our fingers and hope that we survive every time that we feel empty inside. and if you can’t remember how to survive, we will be your life support».

Spraynard – Cut and Paste

October 6th, 2011

picking up where I left with Spraynard – this is their first full length album. and it’s extraordinary. full fucking throttle all the way, and heartfelt like few others. «keep holding on to everyone that makes us happy» – Spraynard make me happy.

Spraynard – Split with Captain, We’re Sinking

September 12th, 2011

that’s punk is very infrequent with its updates these days, but when there actually is an update, you can expect pristine quality. and I’m picking up right where I left you – with Spraynard. they are *that* awesome. these three songs are from a split they did with the band Captain, We’re Sinking. it blasts off with the vocals spitting «it’s a nice day for a walk in the past», which is extremely fitting, given that you will already have the first track if you downloaded the demo. the other two tracks are new though. and just as good! feel the energy, and let the warmth flood your body and take you to a better place.
